MTV Launches Digital Awareness App For Teens
Teens walking the fine line of digital ethics now have a new tool (or toy) to play with. This week, MTV launched an application called “Over the Line” to help teenagers decipher what types of digital communications and behavior cross the line of morality. Meant to be enlightening, teens have the opportunity to share stories about things they’ve done or experienced via cell phone or Internet, and rate stories written by other teens as innocent or inappropriate.
The app also offers information on the dangers of sexting, cyber-bullying, and other forms of digital disrespect along with helpful solutions. Tied into Facebook, teenagers can also flock to their pages to chat more about the topics.
