LinkedIn is a social networking site with a particular focus on business relationships. Users build a Curriculum Vitae-like profile and create their network based on connections, which enables them to maintain contact with trusted business associates and provide recommendations that potential employers can view. Users can see the connections of their connections, which can then be used to gain an introduction. Launched in May of 2003, LinkedIn has more than 60 million registered users worldwide.
